Superferry will use sonar to avoid whales (sonar powerful enough doesn't exist)

I have no idea why people think we're going to be using the Superferry for military. (See Pacific Business News for Chair & VP saying that military transport is part of their business plan) Also here and here.

Superferry is uses less fuel than air flight (Superferry uses more per passenger than air flight ... even jets)

I don't know what the miles per gallon of the Superferry is (Garibaldi doesn't know this about his own vessel???)

Superferry will use biodiesel (nope)

It's not illegal to go to Kaua'i (After Appeals Court ruled it was illegal for Superferry to travel to Maui without an EIS and prior to the Bailout Bill)

We are exempt from doing an EIS (before the bailout bill)

Superferry is cheaper than flying (Do a booking with a car and then compare to air plus car rental - you'll come out cheaper by flying - also note that published fares do not include a 39% fuel surcharge)

Superferry can't go slower to protect whales because its schedule is set by the PUC (like its fares which they've easily changed several times now)

Superferry didn't get any special treatment (Yeah, we always call the Legislature into special session when we want to pass a special interest law for a single business)

We weren't the ones who wanted an exemption from the EIS- it MARAD (the federal loan guarantee) (MARAD demanded an environmental clearance before the loan was approved because they had concerns that the operation wasn't viable in the Humpback Whale Sanctuary. Demanding clearance (e.g. a completed EIS) is different from demanding that the operation be allowed an exemption to the EIS law)

Hawaii Superferry reported that 190 passengers and 60 vehicles rode from Honolulu to Kahului, and 160 passengers and 40 cars made the return voyage. This was a lie because they included staff in their count and did not disclose that almost all passengers were either media or free passengers who rode to Maui and got right back on and rode back. They can't get paying passengers even at half price.
